GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)

The art of optimizing your content to be visible in AI responses (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).

What is GEO?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the evolution of classic SEO. While SEO aims to place your site in first position on Google, GEO aims to have your company cited in generative AI responses like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google Gemini.

Why is it important?

More and more users are asking their questions directly to AIs rather than traditional search engines. If an AI doesn't "know" your company, it will never recommend it.

How to optimize for GEO?

  • Authority and citations: AIs rely on reliable sources. Being cited on recognized sites (press, specialized directories) increases your chances.
  • Structured content: Use clear formats (lists, tables, Q&A) that AIs can easily "read" and reproduce.
  • Special files: Having an llms.txt file on your site helps AI robots quickly understand your offering.

SEO vs GEO

SEO brings traffic to your site via blue links. GEO brings visibility and credibility directly in the user's conversation with their virtual assistant.
